Filter press membrane plate 130 manufactured by Safi Sazan Safa which is known also as variable volume plate or membrane. They are placed on filter press as one in between (one membrane and one chamber)
Working cycle of filter presses which are manufactured with this type of plates, is the same as filter presses with fix volume plates, the difference is that after fulling the filter and finishing the slurry injection into the filter press and cake forming between the plates, blowing or injecting water process is done inside the internal space of the plates. After blowing and injecting water into the internal space of the plates, their membranes are swelled and by pressuring the cake, dehydration process is done again. Consequently, dehydration percentage of the obtained cake will be increased significantly and cake with dry range of 90% (according to the cake type) will be obtained. Meanwhile in these plates, because of high percentage of dryness, the cake does not stick to the plates and are released easily from the plates in discharging step.
